The Rolex Milgauss was designed following the needs of the scientific community and has the ability to resist magnetic fields of up to 1000 gauss. The reliability and precision of a conventional mechanical watch are altered by a magnetic field of 50 to 100 gauss. But many scientists are exposed to much higher magnetic disturbances in their work. Rolex found the solution: the Milgauss, the first watch of its kind. As the name implies, it resists up to a thousand gauss. The Milgauss became fundamentally illustrious in the wrist of scientists of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), located in Geneva.
